Paula Mossakowska is a Belgo-British artist based in Brussels, founder of Kumano Moss, exploring since 2017 the vast world of natural fibre basket weaving.

Her research is guided by the use of locally accessible materials with a minimal environmental footprint. She tirelessly continues to perfect her learning path in the field of traditional basketry which nurtures her passion for objects perfected over the centuries, whose beauty comes from their simplicity of form and manufacture.

Paula holds a BA in Interior Architecture and a professional background in graphic design that informs both her weaving practice and multidisciplinary collaborative projects. Her practical weaving skills have been learned over the last few years (2019-2022) at the French school of basketry in Northern France and have been collected from a sea of talented basket weavers and friends during numerous workshops and encounters.
